Welcome to Tee Ball with Newport Little League. This is probably your child's first experience with baseball and we're here to make sure it's successful. We'll guide you on everything you need to get your child started and list some items that are optional. We'll also include some links for practicing at home because that is where the majority of your child's skills will be developed.
Must Have Tee Ball Essentials:
Bat - All bats used in Little League must be stamped with the USA logo, no other bats can be used in Little League..
Glove - Tee Ball gloves typically are made for every position. Cheaper ones are harder to close so look for one with softer leather that your child can close with their hand in the glove.
Helmet- All participants must have their own helmet. Make sure the helmet is bobbing on the head and all the padding is in place.
Optional but recommended:
Baseball Cleats - For best traction running around the bases, cleats are recommended.
Baseball Pants - We always recommend baseball pants but sometimes these kids aren't trying to hear that.
Batting Gloves - Looking the part leads to higher confidence.
Baseball Apparel - Matching Socks and Belt always complete the look.
